Status of the classic server.

i have a packet loss of 75%
they are not sure why.
i believe its the lines running from the main line to my house.
i will know in 24-48 hours.

current eta when the main server will be online unknown.
i will use this time to update the servers os and antivirus as well as other things.

fun fact. im running at 40kb/s enough to run skype and msn.

update:
apparently my area is effected by the same issue.
it is no longer me. they are running test on the entire network. not just my house anymore.

apparently they left a line open to the elements causing noise to be put back into the system which was knocking people offline.

the technician jean who has been here 12 other times is very tired of this crap so to prevent my isp from saying its me. the internet and cable are now two different lines into the tap. so now if i go down. its them. not me.
current up-time since this fix. 3 days.

hey guys. over the next week the network in my house is going to be moved around. my system and the server may end up going to my room. if not then the network will be moving to the basement (just the modem)

apparently there is an issue that is environmental that causes the network to drop. so we are gonna be testing a new location. (this is why it was down this morning me and the technician where testing different locations.)

Updates:

ordered the  parts for the new network. the modem will be placed in my room provided that the system will not have any noise issues. which is the main reason the server gets kicked offline.

hopefully this will fix any issue we will have in the future.

Friday the network will be going down for work. i will be taking this time to evaluate the situation with the tech as well as possibly install or buy a ventrillo server. aka VOIP system

i do not have an eta for when it will be up friday however the following will be done.

cat7 lines will be run through out the house
the server is being moved to a better cleaner location
the server is going to be updated defraged and scanned (monthly maintenance)
a 24 port switch is being installed
a new router system is also being installed.

hopefully this will help stream line things in the future for the server. as well as keeping my headaches down to a minimum.

i installed the port, and the new lines. now i dont have to take the server offline when i am going to work on the rest of the house.

so.
my isp says its the server the minecraft one. i say its them, cause on their records the modem has been online for 14 days. when its only been online for 1 day. according to the internal timer on the modem so something is wrong and its gonna take alot of fighting to get them to recognize the issue at hand


oh they are saying its me cause they think the amount of data i use is ungodly. i monitor how much bandwidth i use per month. i use about 50 gigs which is average for me.
