hey guys I have been having a problem with minecraft when I try to login to a server it keeps saying java.net.SocketException: software caused connection abort: recv failed:    I have no idea why it is doing this do any of you guys have a clue why and might be able to help me fix this problem?

I do only have java 6 but I will unistall and restall and see from there

try deleting your minecraft.jar.

That link is only if you keep getting a "Server Down" error message! With Java, I am not too sure about that one actually.

oi does anyone have a clue how to fix this. I mean sometimes I can get on but other times I cant its about 90% chance I will get that error and 10% I will get on.

Is this problem for Retail or Classic?

edit your java so the exact location of your minecraft.jar it probubly cant find it or its in a hidden folder, or to fix this you could download and instal java7 even tho its a bit dodgy it should work fine for minecract retail
